January power bill....
Thanks to the early January temps, my power bill for the month was 296 dollars. This is the most I have ever had to pay. We used double the kilowatt hours as compared to last year same period.......MGC

Ours was $360 - pretty normal for us in a given January. I'm not looking forward to February's.

Interesting. That is almost double what mine was up here in Wisconsin! I do have natural gas for heat and that has been very cheap this year.

3 bedroom ranch, heat set at 66F, electric hot water, cook a lot...insulation so so... House faces south, so that helps. Plan on adding solar hot water this spring, so summer hot water *should* be free.

Re: January power bill....
In my house we paid $89. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, house faces north. We didn't use the heater during those cold nights.
This is the lowest we have had to pay in ever. Miami + Winter = Love!!!

Two story 4 bedroom home, gas hot water heater as well - North facing home. House is set at 69 degrees during the day, 65 at night. We do have a gas powered fire place which we did use once or twice in January and once so far this month. This adds to the $$$. It's located in a family room that's always cold in the winter. It's on a slab while the rest of the first floor is over a basement.
