Frost Advisory and expertise needed

Frost advisory issued for Northern Baltimore County. Winter is on the way! What happened to Fall? I recently joined STORM2K. I've always found the weather fascinating, can anybody reccomend a "Weather for Bozoo" book? While your discussions are enlightening, most of the terminology, ABC abbreviations etc are WAY TOO ADVANCED for me.
When I look at various weather pattern maps, I see blobs and pretty swirls. I'd like to see whart everyone is discussing, but I don't even know where to look!
I'd appreciate any suggestions

Rest assured, a warmup is imminent. You'll be feeling balmy breezes by midweek at latest.
