Very cold OCT so far

#1 Postby WoodstockWX » Mon Oct 06, 2003 3:10 pm

This is kinda a local observation post but it applies for more of the NE anyway.

7 7 10 10 10 12

Departure from normals at Woodstock, CT:

oct 1: -7°F (60/37)
oct 2: -7°F (61/36)
oct 3: -10°F (60/32)
oct 4: -10°F (55/35)
oct 5: -10°F (56/34)
oct 6: -12°F (56/30)

Looks like the first 7 days of October will average about 10 degrees below normal here.

We've had a frost in 4 out of the first 6 days of the month when usually our first frost isn't until mid October. (Oct 10-20)

Looks like another chilly day tomorrow but then a slightly above normal day on Wednesday...the first time since September 29th.

Those are some cold temps! It's warming up down south again, hopefully we'll see another Canadian blast next week.

Good states, Quincy. About the same departures from normal in my area. We are expecting the temps to warm up to around normal by mid-week and maybe to slightly above by the weekend.

Just a question are these departures from the average temp for the day or the departure from the normal high temperature for this time of year? Just checking. :D
