My winter 03-04 prediction for North Ga

Arctic front roars through North Ga on the morning of November 18th 2003 bringing light snow (1-2" accumulations) along with sustained winds 15-20mph with gusts to 40mph and temps dropping through the 10's bottoming out in the upper 0's making deadly wind chills.

Strong and intense low pressure system develops in the GOM on the evening of January 4th 2004. The second arctic front of the winter season pushes through the midwest/oh valley at the same time. Blizzard watches are issued for North and Central Ga on the morning of January 5th 2004 in anticipation of the strong and intense low in the GOM and the arrival of the arctic front to meet together in Central Ga. Blizzard watches are upgraded to blizzard warnings for North and Central Ga on the morning of January 6th 2004. Snowfall accumulations of 15-20" are declared likely for North Ga with lesser amounts (10-15") likely for Central Ga. On the morning of January 6th 2004 heavy snows begin falling in North Ga, and spread into Central Ga. Heavy snow persists the whole day and moves out the next morning. Along with the heavy snow were tropical storm force winds creating the expected blizzard conditions The cities of Atlanta and Macon are shutdown and called ghost towns. North and Central Ga have experienced the worst blizzard on record. It will be known as the Great Blizzard of 2004.

Atlanta: 21"
Athens: 18"
Rome: 19"
Gainesville: 22"
Cumming: 20"
Tallulah Falls: 21"
Carrollton: 18"
Douglasville: 18"
Blairsville: 21"
Dalton: 19"

Snowfall accumulations from around the Central Ga area:
Macon: 14"
Columbus: 12"
Augusta: 17"

Nice storm! Your forgot to mention, though, that the storm continues moving NE while strengthening further - and affects the entire U.S. East Coast. Raleigh NC will get 25" of snow, Richmond will get 29", Washington DC will receive 33", Baltimore will have 35", Philadelphia will get 38", NYC will have an even 40" and Boston will hit the jackpot with 48" of snow. :wink: 8-)

Nice scenario GaWxDude! I would think most of the southeast would see something significant this year. You can't just skip a year and not expect to see anything the following year. :wink:

If Hotlanta gets 21..some of the NE towns such as Blairsville will get 30...
