BOX says 2 snow chances over next 7 days

#1 Postby WoodstockWX » Mon Oct 13, 2003 5:08 pm

A chance for a rain/snow mix over NW-Southern New England with the coastal low saturday, and a chance of snow showers/flurries Sunday afternoon and evening with a clipper.

Last year we had our first snow on OCT 25, and that was the earliest since 1992, and if we did get snow this weekend it would be the earliest in my life, but I will check records to verify that.

Well, I was born in 1987 and on OCT 4th 1987 BDL recorded a trace of snow, and a record low maximum temp of 47F!!!

Well, still, this would be the earliest snow since 1987, which is a big deal.

Hearing all of you talking about early snow makes me jelous. You should see the local Alabama board even when flurries are in the forecast. You see any flurries, even the little grany flurries, and people go nuts. State literally shuts down during 1-2" of snow if any of it sticks on the road.

The big rain storm Tues nite and Wed should help pull down cooler air for the next system. Will be interesting to see our first coastal of the year in New England! :P
