Nov 22, 1979 was also 73 and low 70s (73?) expected tomorrow 11/22/03.
Things that "continue" to make you go...HMMMMMMMMM!!
Dec 1979 saw only 4 days at IAD in the 30's from 12-18 thru 21..., the rest were 40s and 50's mainly with 6 days of 60 plus.....and NO SNOW in DEC.....i.e. NO SUSTAINED DEC COLD.....suddenly JAN 4 and 5 was the first snow with 2 day total of 9 inches falling.....temps mainly in the 30s and 40s all month long with 13 days at 40 or below for highs.......Feb was pretty cold the 1st 18 days(upper 20s to upper 30s for highs) except for a 1 day spike to 58 on the 14th.....1 inch of snow onthe 6th, 2in on the 9th and 3 inches on the 28th..got cold again last week of FEB which lasted til about MAR 3rd...and 6inches of snow fell on the 1st and 2nd(while southern areas got clobbered.....another 4 inches fell 3/13-14.

So there ya have it,.,,how close will this winter mimic 79-80? anyone's guess?!!?!? :D

The summer that followed was,,ugh!!..torrid!!!

After December 15, I think we will start seeing some differences. This winter may have a some similarities to '79-'80, but it won't be the same IMO.
