Stupid Hypothetical:
What if the Sun burned out for 6 hours ? Assuming it's gravitational pull and magnetic field remained unchanged too.
Would we all be in serious trouble? Me and my buddy up here at work had this discussion - he thinks we would all die because of only 6 hours of no Sun, but I don't think that is long enough to kill us all assuming solar gravity holds. I think the sun would have to be completely burned out with no nuclear processes going on it for at least 48 hours to kill us all.
Anyone care to respond to this gloom and doom scenario?
