I know I know everyone gets annoyed with the "How much in my backyard?" but I felt maybe if I weighed in others in the DC beltway could get some answers from any responses to my post. Unfortunately I have to say this storm looks like yet another the rich get richer kind of deals. Right now expecting some early snow then a quick changeover to just rain here at the dreaded, for snow lovers, Old Town waterfront. Any hope out there that this gives us more than last week? Any chance we can hang on to frozen precip longer than currently anticipated? Thanks in advance!

Jeb is correct, the High needs to hold on and we COULD get more snow. On the other hand, if it slides out, it will be a tease dusting. I would guess you get about the same amount of snow we received the first round last week, 1-3 inches. Then watch it wash away and further flood the area.
But you never know. It is colder than progged again- this time without snowcover 31.8 already. Last night forecast low was 31 we hit 26.6. Low levels are pretty cold, it is above the surface that will be key in this storm. Low strength and track will also be key.

Yeah this will essentially come down to a nowcast situation. All will depend on keeping that low slightly more east than anticipated and we could hold on to snow for a while longer. Reminds me of situations as a kid just south of Richmond, more often than not we would get the snow to rain but sometimes, just sometimes, the storm would take a nice little 50 mile east jog, the cold air would be held in place and a nice 6-10 inches would come out of a 1-3 inch forecast. In the vein of hope springing eternal I will continue to root for just a little jog east, and a nice snowstorm here!
