Snow started sometime between midnight and 2 AM....and it looks like we have about 2 to maybe 3 inches of snow on the ground right now. I can also see a little bit of drifting taking place. Our current temp is 28 degrees and the wind is calm at the moment. We have snow falling fairly steadily right now.

It will be interesting to see how you're affected once the coastal storm kicks in.

Quick update time....just had a fair good size burst of snow go through the region. We now have about 4 inches of snow on the ground and the roads are really bad. I live right off of a main state route (SR 36) that goes between Altoona to Brookville to Erie. PennDot is out in full blast plowing but is having a hard time keeping up with the snow. I would have to guess our visibility is down to around a mile right now. The flakes are fairly big as well. The trees are beginning to hold a lot of snow and its starting to look like last weekend. Our current temp is holding steady around 29 degrees. More updates later.

Just a quick update. The snow has pretty much tapered off to flurries now. We have gotten about 6 inches total from this system. Roads are looking okay...side roads are another story. It looks like I should have a pretty safe ride to work in the morning if PennDOT continues working on the state roads like they have been all night. So far for the season, we have gotten around 20 inches total...10.5 from last weekends storm...6 inches today...and a few inches from a few lake effect events. We usually don't see much in the way of lake effect snow because we are just a little to far south, but occasionally, we do get them. Well, thats all for now. I will post later with a final accumulation.

No...I'm sorry, I dont know anyone from that area. I moved down to this area from CT back in 2000. As for a quick update...the snow continues, the accumulation goes on, and our winter storm warning goes until 4AM Monday. They are calling for another 1 to 3 inches over night. I'll be heading out within the next 90 minutes to go and clean up the walks again and parking area. I don't want to be stuck getting up super early in the morning and cleaning a lot of snow. This is going to be one long week for me as I will be doing 10 to 14 hour days...argggg. Anyway...stay safe everyone. I dont know how much has totally fallen in the last hour or so since I last updated. I will try to post another update tonight.

I am really pleased to have some nearby (relatively speaking) s2k'ers. Not to mention the group of people around philly. And don't forget Pburg, as well.

I thought that the Florida mafia and gulf coast mob were going to be running this place. Now we have some representation!

It sure was a great idea to open this message board up for anyone who is interested in meteorology, even to the slightest degree... this way we can get members from the Northeast, Midwest and Northwest. :)
