Very Dangerous Windchills Thurs/Thurs night???

#1 Postby nystate » Tue Jan 13, 2004 9:50 pm

TWC is saying a high of -7 F and wind, possibly 10-20 mph or greater during the day Thursday...I did a quick check, and temps that cold w/those wind speeds could produce windchills of -40F or greater...

But Thursday night, the temp is supposed to get down between -10 and -20 F, w/winds of 10-20 mph, with WSTM's windchill calculator saying windchills of -50 F or greater are possible...

So my question to you weather experts out there: How realistic is this scenario??? Are windchills of that nature possible Thursday and Thursday night???? Thanks in advance for any opinions/info...

look at albany...-20F FRI morning with sustained winds of 22mph.

Wind chill thu pm to fri am should be -25 to -50 for UPSTATE NY, where lows may approach -30F.
