Virginia Winters

#1 Postby donsutherland1 » Fri Jan 16, 2004 2:57 pm

For those in Virginia who are in agony over the seemingly endless snow drought now parching parts of the state, the following link provides an outstanding piece on Virginia's winters:

Hopefully, before Winter 2003-04 is finished, it will have contributed a snowstorm to the list provided in this article.

You sure put out a nice presentation!! :) That 1857 cold blizzard also was remarkable as it had an eye feature where snow tapered off over southeast New England and the sun came out for a couple hrs. and then snow returned as it moved north and NW winds took over. It also showed that when a storm becomes so intense that all snow and cold hold firm right down to the area the low pressure tracks(which was right over SE New England).
