Can someone explain to me.............

how weather can be forecasted for 6-15 days out to a month out???????????? I know Accuweather is not one to trust by no means but they have for the Raleigh,NC area on the 27th & 28th ICY with a high of 46 degrees. Then I have read in weather forums that in Feb. that we could have a major snow storm, the second week. I know everyday when I check the weather, the next day they have changed the forecast. I guess what I am asking is do they really know or are they guessing??? Is there the possibility that we will see a MECS in Feb. for the Raleigh,NC area? Thanks in advance!!!! :D

Well for up to 15 days you look at the GFS. It's the only computer model I know that goes out that long. I don't pay much attention to Accux site forecast more than 7 days. As for a month out than that, I'm not sure. I think it's just speculation beyond then.
