Major Bust

#1 Postby Anonymous » Wed Jan 28, 2004 7:44 am

for those people who had little faith in central NJ 4 miles from the coast not seeing very much snow, right here in Brick,NJ there is a thick layer of ice underneath 5 inches of snow. I must say I'm happy, what are some other totals in C NJ and beyond? Oh yea, and TWC said less than 1 inch and we had a WWA

when I say "major bust" it's because the NWS and TWC said not much and right now there's 6 1/2 inches in my back yard. I just went outside and measured.

yes, looking at the radar last night, i did not have much faith that I would see significant snow. But it's better to be optimistic than get high hopes just to see little snow.

Glad to hear you got @ 7 inches of snow. I am happy with the 4 inches I received - which was very much in line with the NWS's call of 3 to 5 inches.

I just got finished shoveling my driveway and steps and walkway. The snow is VERY heavy. We had a very nice heavy snow band that set up about 2 hours ago that dumped a quick inch so my grand total for the January 27-28 snow storm is 8 inches of snow with a crunchy layer of sleet underneath. Definitely have to take it easy when shoveling. Now the wind is picking up so there will probable be 1 foot drifts.

I was very surprised...local mets said 1-3 inches for my area overnight. We ended up with 6 inches :D And more lake-effect snow is on the way with totals exceeding a foot forecasted.
