Fulton gets pummeled with snow

The snowiest place in New York right now is probably Fulton, which got more than two feet of snow between midnight and noon today.

So far this month, 200 inches of snow have fallen in Fulton, making it the snowiest January in city history.

The old record was almost 190 inches back in 1978.

The snowiest winter in Fulton was back in 1995-96 when the city got clobbered with 275 inches of snow.

It will only let me save them as .bmp or .art, and after they are saved I can't open them again. Thanks...

Sounds good!! Thanks! It's a little frustrating here, with blue skies, but just a little bit down the road they are getting pounded. Why can't that band drift north?!?!?! LOL

BTW- Great site!

Hey nystate, Why don't you get in the car and take a nice, relaxing drive to the Snow Zone? :) Or, if the Lake Band is only a couple miles south of you, take this wonderful opportunity to take a nice, relaxing jebwalk down into the snow!!

I sure would!!! What an eminently enjoyable jebwalk that would be!!! Walking into the snowband!!! Walking into FEET of snow!!! WOW!!! Marching gallantly into digging battle with shovel in hand, prepared to dig Oswego out of the snow!!!! :)

LOL  I'll bet if you were in my situation you would, but I am a bit on the careful side. :D Route 81 was closed today, so it was impossible for me to get down there. I have to get to Syracuse sometime this weekend though, and when I do I'll be sure to get some pics in Oswego County and post them here!

On a side note, the band is supposed to set up just a few miles south of me late tonight and all day tomorrow. :grr: Maybe the winds will shift just a little bit and blow the band a bit more to the north? LOL I'm probably just dreaming, but there is a chance :)

I was in the Erie LES yesterday. NOt as large of an event because the lake is frozen, but we had zero visibility off and on and roads here were horrendous. I went down to Chattauqua county and it was nice, until the band settled south, then I almost couldn't see the road

...and I thought that Toronto had it bad this week when we got close to 12 inches of snow in the city and environs over 2 days.

But 5 feet!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! 5 feet! How does Oswego and Fulton NY handle 5 feet of snow! It sounds almost impossible to comprehend.

I'm now soo glad I live on "this" side of the Lake and not "that" side.

5 feet!!! GEEEEZ... that will NEVER melt...i just know it. hehe

Well when you folks get tired of digging snow------I can comprehend five feet of snow-----and I can dig you out of five feet of snow too!!! :)

All I need is a shovel and a little time............and then folks it'll be a Win/Win Scenario for all involved. I clear the snow, your equipment saves on wear and tear, and you revel in your shoveled towns, and I get to dig snow!!! :)

NY State was correct. Oswego county had 6 feet of snow into yesterday. From snow squalls from lake effect snow from Lake Ontario. Nothing reached down here though.
