Absolutely incredible pictures. I can't imagine what it's like to stand there with 80"+ of snow around you... I hope I'll get to do it someday, though!

record snow in syracuse for january

#3 Postby robbyvo » Sat Jan 31, 2004 11:06 pm

Today we broke the january record of snowfall in Syracuse, as we recieved another 14 inches of snow to finish up the month with 78 inches of snow, bringing our snowfall for the winter up to 140 inches. Hopefully we will break the all time snowfall record up here, my first year at SU.

That is incredible to imagine. D.C. shuts down for 5 inches, they would move the government for that kind of snow-to Florida.

Where do they put all that snow? Wouldn't it cause the lake to flood if all that was dumped in the lake?

I'm not sure where they put the snow. There is the potential for significant flooding in the spring, however...
