...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR TUESDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

AND MOST OF SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY...NORTHEASTERN MARYLAND...AND
NORTHERN AND CENTRAL DELAWARE. SPECIFICALLY...THE ADVISORY IS IN
EFFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN PENNSYLVANIA...DELAWARE AND PHILADELPHIA.

IN MARYLAND...CECIL...KENT...QUEEN ANNES...TALBOT AND CAROLINE.

AND IN DELAWARE...NEW CASTLE AND KENT.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES OR WARNINGS HAVE ALSO BEEN ISSUED FOR
POINTS TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF THIS ADVISORY AREA.

PRECIPITATION SHOULD DEVELOP EARLY TUESDAY MORNING ON THE MARYLAND
EASTERN SHORE...THEN SPREAD NORTH AND EAST ACROSS THE REST OF THE
ADVISORY AREA AFTER DAYBREAK. WHILE A LITTLE SNOW IS POSSIBLE RIGHT
AT THE ONSET...THE PRIMARY THREAT WILL BE FREEZING RAIN. AS WARMER

LATER IN THE DAY WHEN TEMPERATURES WARM ABOVE FREEZING.

Ice, ice, ice sounds good to me :D

Colin, I heard that the storm this weekend will be a large snow producer for the Big Cities a good snow total. Since the ocean has been so cold it will mean snow even along the coast. Cound this be a 12+ storm?

Nah...at this point I'm not very gung-ho with that storm.

HM thinks it ain't gonna happen...more like a SECS if anything now.

An SECS is still a nice event. And I still say it is too early to write off the late week/weekend system(s) as little or no snow. Wait to see if the 50/50 low develops - it will make ALL the difference.

if the storm tomorrow closes off and goes into canada, that would be a 50/50 low and a good set up for the weekends storm, right?

What we need is a good PNA ridge in the West.

It's forecast to happen, but I think you should ask FLguy or one of the real experts here. :)

Yes, and some of the computer models are catching on to this.

I wouldnt get excited yet about the late week system. And that goes for anyone from the OV to the eastcoast. This has Big bust potential written all over it and with the way systems have been behaving this winter for those in the MA, OV I wouldnt count on anything yet. The trend has not been our friend and untill i see otherwise thats my mind set for the rest of this winter as my hopes for any real type of snowstorm here (10+) are quickly fading away.
