Rain starting to change over to wet snow...

#1 Postby ezweather » Fri Mar 19, 2004 1:36 am

Hey Everyone..

Over here in Voorhees, NJ, rain finally changing over to heavy wet snow. No thunder reported yet.

Was starting to get very tired, but went out and checked. Now, I'm wide awake. Adrenaline is back. Its finally starting to changeover to snow at 120 this morning.

My Davis Weather Instrument readings as of 1:20am

Temperature: 35.0
Dewpoint: 33.4 - very good sign and its dropping from 34.6
Wind: Light SE wind.
Pressure: 30.04F

Mixture of rain and wet snow. Snow flakes are starting to dominate as I type this observation up. Large snowflakes. The next hour should get very exciting. Radar echoes really dark green over South Jersey, especially Salem, Burlington, and Ocean counties. Regional shot shows a heavy concentration over eastern MD and DE.

New update to my dewpoint reading, 32.8 as of 1:33 this morning. Dewpoint is a very critcal for frozen precip. If that drop to 32 or below, frozen precip likely. Things are definitely changing. Snow really starting to come down. Very wet outside.

Let me know what your seeing across areas of SE PA and South Jersey.
