My report on snow amounts in the north Willamette valley for 2003/2004...

Portland Nws
Portland Blizzard of January 5th to 7th 7 inches reported at the Nws...Areas to the west of Portland, got upwards to 8 to 10 inches of snow out of this storm...While the Eastern parts of the city got 40 to 70 mph winds...The snow event lasted for about 12 to 18 hours, changing over to a heavy sleet/freezing rain event for another 36 hours. Snow did not totally melt for 3 weeks after. While more then 5 inches of the snow stayed on the ground for up to 4 days on the side walks and grass. Snow mounds through out the area got up to "4 to 6 feet". This storm also closed most of Portland and Oregon down for days...
The new years day storm 5.5 inches...The new years day storm was a surprize the low pressure the models where saying to stay south of the area where wrong, and this storm was coming for us. This storm had areas of 5 to 7 inches of snow in closed many highways around the area...Including I-5. This storm had snow on the ground for 2 to 3 days.
December snow events...
December 29th Event....I measured upwards of 2 inches of snow from this event. But the Airport had only .5 of a inch. Foot hills around the area got upwards of 7 to 10 inches of snow. Those areas above 500 feet most likely got from the winter of 2003/2004 upwards of 20 to 25 inches of snow. Which some areas above 500 feet people could not get the store for a few weeks.

December 28th event...This snow event was mostly in the higher hills to but .5 fall on the valley.

November 19th...This event was very rare it started around 8am in the morning in lasted for about 4 hours. Snowfall in the backyard was around 3 inches of snow. Report got just one inch. Borning Oregon got 10 inches of snow.
...................................
2003/2004 winter season was the most snow that Portland Oregon got since 1992/1993 winter season which had 14.1 inches of snow...Here is other years that got more then 10 inches of snow fall that hit Portland...

1992-1993 14.1 inches of snow
1985-1986 10.8 inches of snow (The year I as born :))
1979-1980 12.4 inches of snow
1970-1971 10.0 inches of snow
1968-1969 was the year that out did this year...With 34.0 inches of snow...

The cold spell that came before the Portland Blizzard was the coldest since 1998. With 3 days below 25 degrees. Lasting 5 days.

Yeah, up here in Washington we were thinking that the storm would hit us, but instead it darted just to the south. That was dissappointing, but we did get snow throughout December and January.

I have a cabin near Welches, Oregon (9 miles from Government Camp, Oregon on Mt. Hood), where the elevation is just about 1500'. We got more than 4 feet from the Portland Blizzard. It was awesome. 8-)
