If you could make the trip, we have some good snow up here in the Cascade Mountains about the time you are coming. Particularly Mt. Baker, which recieved 53 feet of snow last season!

Mt. Baker and surrounding areas are INCREDIBLE!! It has been 30 years since I have been in the area, but I fell in love with all of NW Washington!!

Yeah, it is great up here except our lack of lowland snow, but we don't have to go too far for that. 8-)

If all else fails Aqua, you can just come to Canada!!

You are sure to find some spot for snow early in the season up here. We never fail to disappoint.

Yeah, I have heard great things about Whistler. The backcountry is top to none according to lots of people. It is a little more ways to go though, and it is usually crowded in the weeks leading up to the Christmas Season. Your best bet would be somewhere like the Oregon/Washington Cascades (I have a cabin up on Mt. Hood, home of the Timberline Ski Resort, one of the best in America). Or, you could always go to some of the very popular resorts in Colorado (Vail, Aspen, ect.).

Hope I could help. :)

Thank You W13! I got out the maps and would rather fly into Portland and do Mt Hood versus the big city Seattle..Besides I hear they have some Big Walleye in the Colombia River. Next world record possibly.. No Walleye in FL..Bass and Salty stuff though..

ssom4..I can understand your likeing to Colorado..it's beautiful and great snow..I just don't associate it with early snow to often..of course anything is better than skiing up thata way..lol.. mostly ICE..It sure makes it easy when skiing on a real base of snowpack.. :) Lutsen on the North Shore in season can be good, but Terry Peak in the Black Hills is the closest thing to mountains for you..it can be hit and miss there like Colorado as well..

Thanks for the Great input Everyone. :)

Hey Aqua, I was going to ask the same question!!

But, I am going even earlier, late october. I really wanted to see snow, but we are driving an RV, so November December is just to snowy!!! And a little scary driving the mountain passes.

We are going to Colorado,Idaho,Wyoming, Oregon and down to California. I have been told the best chances I have got to see snow in October is in Crater lake Oregon. It really is a pain in the butt for us, because a lot of the rv parks and national park grounds close the end of september begining of November. But hey, Im hoping to at least get a flurry or two.

I have heard that places like Jackson in Wyoming are great areas to ski at in December!! Hope you have a great time, and post lots of pics for us :)
