Fall Follige??? Don Sutherlin and USAwx1 or any met pls Read
Hey I got a question for one of the mets here like USAwx1 or don sutherlin? When Can I look to start seeing the first colors of fall follige? Would it be the normal time for it to appear or will it be earlier than normal. And what could be a trigger? A strong cold front and colder than normal air? Remember I live 40 miles NE or Atlanta and about 15-20 Miles south of the Southern Appalachain Mountains.

KC...CLIMO says it's mid to late OCT for peak color in your area, however depending on how quickly the winter pattern sets in (or at least what my analogs suggest it will be) is going to determine how quickly you start seeing color. Head up to the GA/NC/SC boarders along the SRN half of the Appalachian trail and you could start to see color as early as Mid SEP depending on the pattern of course.
For this year, It's likely that things will be running a bit ahead of schedule WRT foliage in your neck of the woods. As for me...well...I get to enjoy my palm trees 365 days/yr.
