Mean bright banding...

Man, if only it was 3 or 4 degrees cooler! Hopefully....

Btw, thx all week for the great maps, thoughts and updates 25. It was a real rollercoaster few days, but what's cool is that the US models overall did pretty darn good in a general way in predicting the setup. There were some changes from run to run, but the idea of the cold, the W Gulf low, possible wintry precipitation et al, I think they did pretty good. They're notorious for botching southern stream energy (and admittedly I didn't follow the operationals), but GFS gets a B+ for the last 6 days, and the ETA gets probably a B-/C+.

No problem.

Actually I would give the ETA a better grade, perhaps a solid B or A- on this event since it was the first to show the higher QPF over extreme SE TX.
