Anyone in Ohio Valley having cell phone issues?

#1 Postby PurdueWx80 » Fri Dec 24, 2004 9:54 am

I was just curious if anyone else in the area is having problems with cell phone service? I typically don't have the best service at my parent's, but we've just had one bar on our phones since this storm dumped on us. My guess is that the brief period of freezing rain and sleet here may have covered the towers in a glaze of ice, acting to attenuate the signal, but I'm not positive. Some other family members (one who had mostly freezing rain) have also reported the same problems. Has anyone else experienced this???

In my area cell phone reception is what it normally is but we just got snow - no sleet or freezing rain.

More then likely that is the problem. Some of the attennas on the towers couldve broken off from the wieght of the ice too. Im sure it will clear up as soon as we get some warmer temps in here.
