Thanks for the graphics. I think your storm track is a little too far north. I would recommend different colors, I can barely tell all the pinks and purples apart. Maybe I am color blind.

Totally disagree ... WRT to the Eastern Seaboard and Southeast (particularly in the Carolinas) ... as for the Midwest and Upper Plains, I think that's fine ...

especially with regards to wraparound moisture further south with redevelopment offshore ... again, the trend will likely go further south again, with the 50/50 low becoming stronger and stronger with each passing model run, and a general consensus is starting to be realized ...

The UKMET is the furthest south, but it also realizes the CAD wedging component that I fully expect to see instead of this rollover effect. The model solutions are trending a bit slower as well with the storm system. The other models are eroding the wedge, even the ECMWF much too quickly, and basically runs the SLP thru what SHOULD be a cold air plume on the Eastern side of the Appalachains. Overall, the ECMWF/UKMET solution blend is the way to go at this point.

Cold air damming. It's when a high usually sets up anywhere from Northern MD-NY State. I say usually because it can form further north or slightly more to the west. The high then funnels cold air down the eastern side of the mountains which is normally shallow, hence all of the ice storms that occur in the carolina and sometimes virginia piedmonts.

What do you have Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina here? I know it's snow, but the colors are too close together to tell whether it's light or heavy.

Let's just hope the low tracks about 50 to 100 miles to the south of your forecast.
