Given the latest model guidance and some cold air damming, I believe the bulk of the snow will likely fall in western North Carolina and western Virginia. In terms of the major I-95 cities, I do not expect a substantial snowfall.
I will be more conservative than with the last two storms given that my bias turned out on the high end in both cases.
Initial estimates are as follows:
Baltimore: 2"-4"
New York City: Coating or less
Newark: Less than 1"
Philadelphia: 1"-3"
Richmond: 1" or less
Washington, DC: 2"-4"
January 29-30, 2005 Mid-Atlantic Snowfall: Initial Estimates

Verification:
Baltimore: 1"-3"; Actual: 1.7"
New York City: Flurries to perhaps a dusting; Actual: 0.2"
Newark: 0.5" or less; Actual: 0.1"
Philadelphia: 2" or less; Actual: 1.4"
Richmond: 1" or less; Actual: Trace
Washington, DC: 1"-3"; Actual: 2.2"
Note: I had made some minor changes Saturday afternoon but S2K was down and could not post them here. They were posted at WWBB. Nevertheless, I'll also add the verification to the preliminary idea, as well:

Not bad don!
This has got to be one of the longest periods that snow has been on the ground that I can remember! We did have some melting earlier in the week, but there's still a good 6 or 7 inches left plus what we accumulated from the weekend. I'm sure that by the end of the week, the majority of it will be gone.
