Southeast, Texas winter...where is it?

Well I haven't seen a topic about winter weather in Southeast, Texas/Louisiana for quite some time. All I see is more rain coming through here this weekend and into next with no cold air. I'm sure we will have another half decent cold front or two but can we go ahead and write off anymore Arctic fronts or frozen precipitation this winter? Are the models hinting at any arctic fronts making it down here?
In the mean time I'm gonna go to WalMart and see what kind of deal they are running on their flip flops.

Well I don't know about SETX but I was surprised to find something interesting in the NTX afternoon forecast from the NWS. Apparently there is some polar, artic stuff coming down to Texas by WEd. of next week and some Pacific Moisture bout the same time. They also mentioned about a REX block forming...Im no pro and barely know anything about forecasting, but Ive heard that a REX block brings us some cold temps from up north. So just maybe the buds on the trees and the Robins in my yard might get a little chilly by middle of next week.
Capt. Crunch hasn't been on in awhile, but he is pretty good about explaining Texas weather, So is the VBhoutx (hope I got that handle right) from the Houston area is also very good. Maybe they can help us out with their insights.

The active southern stream will bring the next storm system across TX on Saturday and Sunday. This system will act more as a dry line than a cold front with temps. actually warming behind the system on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

A highly modified polar air mass looks to head into the region by the middle of next week with the return of the sub-tropical SW flow. Front does not look strong enough to produce any threat of winter precip., although is could be raw and cool as we have seen much of lately.

River flood threat remains high with several watersheds now above flood stage over SE TX, E TX, and the coastal bend: San Bernard River, Trinity River, Tres Palacios River, Peach Creek, Guadelupe River, Neches River.

I keep reading where locals suggest very cold weather about a week ahead, based on models, but then it doesn't materialize. My winter clothes are collecting dust in the closet!

I am noticing that the robins are back and I even saw a two of those huge water roaches!!! I hate those!! Isnt it too early for those to be out?? We need anther hard freeze to kill those suckers!!!

Just got thru looking at the 10 day runs and things do look like it may change around the 18th & 19th with a weak cold front and a upper low tracking across TX. However, right now it looks like if any freezing precip happens it will be across OK, and northern AR.
