Changes in Weather for SoCal

#1 Postby aveosmth » Thu Feb 10, 2005 4:56 pm

It looks like the waterhose will be pointed at SoCal/Arizona/Nevada for the next week and a half. The first storm will be tropical in nature. The snow levels will be very high for this one....were looking at 6500 ft to start and then climbing...yes climbing to 9K here in Southern California.

The good news is that once this storm system leaves, we will have a 3 day break and then a much colder and vigorous storm will enter the picture. The GFS has actually done very well this winter for us as far as long range predictions. If you look at the 12Z run, you will see that we are under the gun from late Tuesday up until Friday....as I said before this storm is much colder and should beef up the snow totals in the mountains of the Southwest.
