What i think kysrof means is that the first one was the one back awhile, the second 1 back in 2003, and the 3rd one about 3 days ago. He is thinking it will be like the 2003 one. (Is that right kysrof?)IndianaJonesDDT wrote:No. There was President's Day Snowstorm 1, which happenned a while back, and then there was President's Day Snowstorm 2, which happenned recently in 2003. I don't think there were three parts to the one storm, it was a combination of 2 storms.

We had a total of 5.6 inches of snow here in southeast Baltimore County. Some areas to our south and east got even more than that with 6-9 inches total in general across the north central eastern shore and central Maryland from Annapolis down to the Waldorf vicinity.
The scenery in the wake of this storm is quite beautiful here. No doubt conditions are much improved today. Now we focus on Monday and Tuesday and how that storm evolves. The main questions will be track, intensity, and also how much cold air seeps in from the north. The position of high pressure to our north will be very critical for precip type. While this has the makings of a very strong storm with lots of wind to boot, will need to watch once again how much cold air comes in as well as track and intensity. This storm is the same storm that nailed California with tremendous rains over the last week and it's loaded with moisture. Thus whatever comes with this looks significant with heavy precip, gale to storm force winds and tidal flooding. It's precip type that will be the issue with this storm.
