Right now its about 31-32 degrees. About 5.5 or 6 inches of heavy wet snow so far. The Snow began around 7pm. Most Mets were saying about 3-6 inches. Which is just about to be passed. its snowing Heavy and the rain/snow line is still well east of the cape.

Sounds like a repeat of the blizzard of 78! I was in Woonsocket at that time... I remember seeing all the non plowed roads in pictures... That was simply amazing! We had 54 inches of the white stuff!!

Yeah, looks like Eastern Mass is really getting nailed according to the radar. Man...gotta be at least 2 inches/hour going on.

The moisture is just feeding right off of the atlantic and to our south the snow has been filling back in. I'm surpised to see that the rain/snow line hasnt even hit Nantucket yet.

EDIT: Spoke to soon, Nantucket is reporting Rain and Windy at 36 degrees.

Interesting...I was wondering if that was sleet moving over parts of the Cape. Maybe it is?

That might just be some heavy bands. One moved right up from New Bedford about an hour ago. Chatham is the outer most part of the cape and they are still reporting snow.

Well the mets were WAY off.. some had our totals at 3-6 inches. the most was whdh with 6-10 inches.. Carver has reported 16 inches, havent heard a report out of middleboro but i would say a good 14 or 15 inches. 1 or 2 more inches are expected later this evening.

Cape Cod did not get rain as forecast! Right now there are about 9 1/2 or 10 inches of heavy, wet "rain" (a.k.a. snow) on my back deck which was shoveled completely clean before the storm. And it is still snowing...

And it is still below freezing, so it does not look like it will melt.

We had thundersnow... high winds, and power outage (which is why I was not here last night).

I was typing on my computer when the power went out, so I ended up using 2004 computer technology with 1880s illumination technology (my grandmother's oil lamps)... Power is back on, however.

It was very annoying that there were no watches or warnings ever posted until storm was well underway and the advisory was only posted an hour or two before first flakes..... Go figure! Today they finally have a winter storm warning posted...
