Amazing pics! Thanks Frankthetank!

Some impressive snowfall records have been set with this storm for March 18.
Minneapolis MN 5.3inches snow
Sioux Falls SD 9.4inches snow
Mason City IA 11.8inches snow
La Crosse WI 13.9inches snow
Rochester MN 19.8inches snow ****
ALL TIME DAILY SNOW RECORD FOR ANY MONTH

These snowfall figures seem to be the final amounts.
(adjusted March 19)

Amazing pics, Frank. We added another 3 inches of wet snow to last night's 5 or so, much of which melted today (on pavement and south facing areas thanks to that high March sun!)...another beautiful site around town, though. I see La Crosse ended up with 13.9" at the airport and Rochester came in with an incredible 19.8" which totally smashed the old record snowfall. Parts of far southern MN saw close to 2' from this storm, which is amazing since this system was TOTALLY cut off from Gulf of Mexico moisture.

Next week looks promising (or shall I say disheartening) for snowfall somewhere in the Midwest once again as a southern branch system scoots by to our south. Some of tonight's models would bring a good 4-8" storm to areas south of I-90 in WI and MN on Tuesday. Expect lots of model flip flops until the system gets out of the southern Rockies.

When i was reading Cosgrove's daily column yesterday i noticed him mentioning he wasn't that impressed because the gulf was closed off...its one reason i wasn't that thrilled with the foot of snow we MIGHT get :) :)...

getting ready for number 2 :) ...remember that they were orginally forecasting here in LAX for 1-3 inches...maybe that 4-8 will turn in 20-30 !!! :)
