I am in Wylie and actually felt like that was gonna be a hit... 25 years in Alabama never had anything that close...
It couldn't have been more than a few miles away

Just to your east near the Lake Lavon Dam into hwy 78 there has been many reports of damages in those cities. Started in Rowlett and made it's way to Farmersville

First mention of wintery precip by SHV NWS. Those in the pathbof storms stay safe and aware. Hoping the Dallas stuff calms down overnight as it moves my way.

Not to take away from the significance of the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes across north Texas, but the 00Z NAM is continuing the southern trend, so snow chances really appear to be increasing for north Texas.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Wylie, it was really a close call. I alway felt Wylie was a tornado magnet, thank goodness that didn't verify today.

just a guess.......take everything i say with a grain of salt.......check your local NWS for forecast information
Here's an image on Fox 4 twitter from Rockwall Harbor earlier looking likely west or NW across lake Ray Hubbard into Rowlett. You can see I-30 bridge with the light of cars

Meanwhile the front just came through here by the airport, felt the air change pretty quick.

The Weather Channel just reported that a large apartment complex was obliterated in Garland. I'm thinking based on the size of the Tornado and initial damage reports that this will be rated at least an EF-4 when the damage assessment is done.

Yeah, it looks at least EF-3. Probably EF-4 when survey's verify. There's still a lot of areas with big damage that we just aren't getting images out of especially eastern Collin County. The tornado went through a very highly populated eastern/northeastern Dallas county.

Ok I just looked at radar. That was a discrete supercell that hit E Dallas. The major line of storms is now moving through DFW area. Everyone please stay aware and ready to take cover if necessary.

Flooding might become the next big issue. Hefty precipitation has started to establish itself on and just behind the front.

Cold heavy rain, strong winds, some lightning, it's not going to make it any easier for the search and rescue responders. Gusts behind the front are going 30+ mph

And there's a blizzard coming out of New Mexico that's about to crank in West Texas. Thundersnow reports and probably some thundersleet before the full transition.

Still waiting for confirmed reports from Hwy 78 area in eastern Collin county. There's some reports (unconfirmed) of leveled streets and neighborhoods in that area
