When I got off of work at 9pm it took some time to get the ice off of my windshield to drive home. The roadways weren't totally frozen but you could definitely see where it was icing up along the edges where the most moisture remained. I'm REALLy glad I'm off for the remainder of the weekend.

My sandpaper skin tells me there isn't much moisture around either!
Your skin is deceiving you. I could tell the difference in the moisture when I went out. Still having very light flurries here last time I looked. Going out in a minute to check again. Numerous reports coming in on the local forum from all areas of the metro, especially W Houston.
edit to confirm light freezing drizzle and/or flurries at the house. These are steady and the windshield is getting covered.

"light freezing drizzle and/or flurries " Vbhoutex it's time to expose those bare legs of yours to the great outdoors and figure out for sure which one it is that's falling from the sky there!

Ironic huh? Good thing they closed though I have a feeling things will be very hazardous in the mornings on elevated roadways and bridges. Just caught the end of the newscast for Rob Perillo and there's rain starting to pop right around the coast which may be here within the hour if it holds together. I'm thinking if this ice storm is going to materialize that's the beginning. The latest (00z) GFS 28 hr QPF shows Lafayette in the .50"-.75" range and Rob has us below freezing until noon!

Vehicles etc. beginning to get a glaze on them as the freezing drizzle/flurries continue in my area. Roads are also beginning to show the moisture so I wouldn't plan on going anywhere in the morning unless this stops overnight.

I heard the same broadcast - taking it with a grain of salt. Not much happening nor do I believe anything will ~ just cold.

This is shaping up to be a big disappointment for many Houstonians (including myself) when they wake up tomorrow morning. At this rate I don't even think we'll be getting snow.

Re:
Nothing here, either. Very disappointing! *sigh*
I should have known better than to fall for it, but it looked so promising. I get sucked in every time...

light freezing rain here. Oh well, hopefully some snow will develop, but it's all to the north it seems like. Really looked like we had a chance there, and oddly I was being the pessimistic one around my peers the past few days and it still got me a little.

I find that amazing. I know I am not imagining the 1/8" glaze of ice on everything outside my doors with a steady light freezing drizzle still falling. This can switch over to snow anytime it wants or we are in for a RUDE AWAKENING in the morning if this doesn't stop soon and radar tells me it will not.
