Well... looks like a blowtorch is coming next week! Get the shorts out! Could be approaching 80 in many areas the weekend before Christmas if the GFS verifies. Bah humbug!

At that time, it was a tropical 73 degrees with rain moving in with a squall line. After the squall, the coldest
it got was 54*F overnight.

I haven't seen any snow Brent where I live as long as I've been here, at least you've Seen snow
in the past LOL

I might be able to get some frost tonight- we'll see, beach forecast
low is around 46 F, slightly inland you might get 42-44 Degrees. Probably
too warm for frost, but we'll see what happens.

12z GFS says winter cancel after Monday. Wet Christmas and temperatures look above average into the new year. :grr:

Pattern change coming just after the New Year? GFS has been consistently showing a major storm with cold air involved around January 2nd-4th.

Behind the system the SE ridge is gone and temperatures will mostly be below normal though not extremely cold.

LOL, I knew you would.

James Spann in Birmingham:

VOODOO COUNTRY: The 12Z GFS continues to suggest much colder air arriving around New Year’s Day, with some hint at a snow/ice threat here around January 2. All voodoo, but certainly possible considering the pattern change we have been advertising. You have to figure January will be cold considering the depth of the brutally cold air over the continent and the big snowpack to the north.

That would be quite a cold snap down the Florida peninsula if it were to verify. It is certainly not everyday that you see the 0C 850mb line get that far south in the state.

The 12Z GFS doesn't show the cold air making it as far south, but it does still show the pattern change. That's good enough for now.

I've been running my ac nonstop since Dec 10th.No real cold fronts in sight just weakening troughs pushing thru as the winds shift NE not cooling us down. Hey its Florida its not supposed to get cold.

Blah. Even the HPC graphic changed. The 18z GFS looks DEPRESSING with just a quick shot of cold air after the new year(but nothing extreme) and then the blasted ridge returns. I'm sick of this.

Joe Bastardi thinks that the first half of January will feature a pattern similar to the last part of November...meaning the coolest weather, relative to averages, should be centered over the southeast part of the country. If he is correct, then I am sure that many posters on this thread will be quite happy. :)

Even though conditions are neutral, here in Florida were experiences a La Nina pattern warm and dry.
