I have been giving serious thought to driving up there but Norman is as far as I want to go and doesn't looked as locked in to making the best out of a few hours like NW of there would be. Now being there all day would be great so enjoy.

I'll take any signs of ANY possible Christmas winter weather for DFW as unlikely as reality may be. Sure it's doubtful, but let's at least have something to watch, speculate, and dream about for 2 weeks. In the end I'll settle for cloudy and cold and wishcast for something more than that!

Yeah I was tempted to drive up there too but I work all weekend and yeah the NW trend definitely turned me off

I'll be in Colorado in a month but hopefully we'll have closer setups in the weeks to come

My cautious optimism has increased that we may get something this year. In previous winters there was a lack of snow in the central plains north of us as well. Not this year, which means if we can get the cold, we can get it to happen. Will see.

This is getting close. Some in N. TX would see something with this setup.

HRRR also seems to have the wrap around shifting southward with each run, though i can’t be certain given how far it goes out.

06Z GFS filled in that "hole", Brent. Snow begins near sunset Christmas Eve and ends during the day on Christmas. White Christmas for the D-FW area this year is now guaranteed (at least by the 6Z GFS)!

With the kind of year we've had, we deserve it! So I hereby claim this as truth. Bring on Snovid 2020.

Wxman57 tries three jinx but won’t stop the fantasy. If the Gfs keeps showing even the hint of a Christmas snow on a somewhat regular basis, this place is about to suddenly get really busy.

The HRRR trends have been interesting so far today, still wouldn't rule out some people in Denton or Collin counties seeing some flakes this evening.

What time? I'm just west of Denton, 2 miles south of 380.

My kids would flip out.

Looks like b/w 5 - 8 pm but have to watch radar and model trends this afternoon. There are a couple of things that could easily spoil this - dry air filtering in and a warm surface layer. It will be close but it's at least something to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Nice and cold 48 degrees outside in Temple and on and off rain showers. My plants could have never looked so happy before. :spam:

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Please don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

Figures, but hey was it 8 years ago we saw something around Christmas time this early out and it happened. So why not again. Anyone have a comparison between the two. This trend compared to that trend and why that one worked out?

Well, Norman is currently getting dry slotted (because of course since I’m there) but we’ve gotten about half an inch so far and it looks like more will be on the way with the potential for some mesoscale banding to produce some higher snowfalls. Knowing my luck, it won’t happen and we might see a dusting more, but I’m crossing my fingers with blind optimism.
