For the Oklahoma folks. It got really windy in Vegas during one of the bowl games that year. If you start seeing it dig way down in the Great Basin to Nevada then we're in business.

What is that and why not also for North Texas? That dark blue is right over all of us?

It can be if the front is way faster than forecast, just no model support for that yet. That's the Christmas Eve Blizzard. Models were saying Kansas and north for days up until the last minute it just dug and dug.

Yeah see right now we're even too warm... But I'm hoping it's the usual arctic air comes in faster than expected

Now it includes sleet and ice but still

Definitely fzr and sleet changing to rain. Gfs still includes fzr as snow. Not sure why lol

You can read the Christmas Eve meltdowns below. Though he's no longer here Msstateguy stuck to his guns on that one...and won against the model's will.

If this got close to verifying, would future euro runs have the lp further south, or no?

The 18z GEFS still has quite a few blanks this weekend but it has some big members now that didn't exist earlier

Almost every EPS member had something at 12z

I just reread that 2009 thread. Man that brings back memories. I was still in my 20s and a bottle of brown water deep enjoying that thread.

I was in Edmond,OK and that was a glorious day! It just kept coming and coming! Doubt I’ll ever see anything like that again.

11" from that storm was only surpassed by the multi-storm 2021 event. If we get another big one next week that'll be 3 heavy snows in 16 years, honestly that's pretty good for here.

This has been shifting westward with the trough digging in the southwest.

I think that's possible. I noticed that the surface reflection looked further north on the 18z Euro than you would usually expect considering the location the Euro has the 500mb shortwave. I'm interested to see if the tends continue in the 0z global model runs tonight lol.

The stuff of legends. I remember that one. That was a storm for sure.

Wonder what he's up to now.
