Just for the record, the all-time record for Mobile was 6" back in the 1890's. Not that I think we'll break it, but let's go for it anyway. It's going to be a long day at work tomorrow if I don't get snowed out.

I think the low will have to deepen some more sucking down the colder air and snow. Once the low passes to our south and we get on the west side of the low. I think there is a good chance of snow to the coast early Friday morning. Cold rain till then......MGC

spent the whole day in New Orleans, like an idiot, decided to go to the zoo! was pelted with sleet, my hair covered in ice! we were the only ones there. went to the quarter, drove the hour home, everything turned to pure rain! don't have the energy to stay up much longer to see if we will get a change over. still don't think we will get much this close to the coast, maybe sleet, but that is it.

Just a cold steady rain falling here in Biloxi this early Friday morning. My local MET with WLOX TV 13 as well as 2 METs from NOLA were still saying at 10:00 p.m. last night that the MS Gulf Coast would see some snow on Friday. TWC's My Local On The 8's is still saying a 90% chance for sleet mixed with snow, possibly 1-2" of snow on Friday.

Have to agree TC. We were supposed to have at least a mix by now and ju pure cold rain with a temp of 35. As you said the line has not moved and no new areas reporting anything. Have the feeling this is going to be a bust. Still holding on to hope but time is running out.

The way I understood it per the latest NWS discussion until the low is to your east is when you would get the colder air and
wrap around moisture (sleet/snow). That should not happen until at around 6:00am this morning give or take an hour.
But as we all know nothing is written in stone when comes to weather.

I have to agree. I've checked all the obs to my north and haven't found that the rain/snow line is moving south much at all. BR stuck at 36 with rain, Lafayette at 37 with rain and with a dewpoint of 35 I'm not expecting to see anything frozen of significance. The Baton Rouge and eastward areas will probably see some sleet/snow at the end but I would be surprised to see any accumulations. Hope I'm wrong though!

Thanks stormcenter I know you are just trying to make me feel better.LOL. just don't know if things are progressing as nicely as we were hoping . Overnight was supposed to be our best time for accumulations maybe things have slowed down by 4 or 5 hours .
