Stiff north winds just hit 10 minutes ago here in Wylie. I can hear the house pop a little and the trees whining outside.

Yeah ... what a huge disappointment. We couldn't even squeeze out a rain shower out of the deal. Pathetic.

Lake Travis is going to be just a mud puddle by Labor Day.

On a brighter note, good luck to all of you in north and northeast Texas. Enjoy the snow and sleet and take pictures and post 'em! MERRY CHRISTMAS, Y'ALL!! :D

Indeed there is, txsnowman1369 ... indeed there is. And for those who want to live vicariously via the TxDOT cams ... below is a link to Wichita Falls. Recent images suggest a full-fledged snowstorm for Wichita Falls!

Looking at the longer range it looks like some Rain may be in the Forecast as we head until the end of the year and start 2013......0zECMWF shows some descent snowfall (6-9 inches) for a wide area of West Texas!

NWS Discussion out of Corpus Christi..

RETURN MOISTURE WL ONCE AGAIN INVADE THE CWA ON SUNDAY AS ONSHORE FLOW QUICKLY DEVELOPS IN
ADVANCE OF A DEVELOPING CLOSED UPR LOW ACROSS SRN CA/NRN BAJA. PCPN
IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY SUN NIGHT AND INCREASE IN COVERAGE ON
MONDAY AS A COASTAL TROUGH STRENGTHENS. WHILE THE GFS AND ECMWF
SOLNS DO DIFFER ON THE TIMING AND STRENGTH OF THESE FEATURES...THE
OVERALL TREND CONTINUES TO INDICATE A WET SUBTROPICAL PATTERN
DEVELOPING EARLY NEXT WEEK.

NWS Discussion out of Brownsville..

CONDITIONS WILL BEGIN TO DETERIORATE A BIT ON SUNDAY AS A DEEPER MID LEVEL FEATURE DIGS SOUTH
INTO BAJA CALIFORNIA. THE UNSTABLE SOUTHWEST FLOW OVER NORTH CENTRAL
MEXICO AND DOWNSTREAM DIVERGENCE OVER WEST TEXAS AND THE BIG BEND
WILL ALSO INFLUENCE THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND DEEP SOUTH TEXAS WITH
UNSETTLED WEATHER.
