Here in Alaska we have the opposite problem, we can see snow for over 6 months a year where I live.
Snow is a wonderful thing...to all who have not experienced it, I encourage you to...if is well worth it!

Thanks Amanzi, GAstorm, et. al., for the kind words. I believe that there will be opportunities this winter to add to the photos.
I'll post some photo highlights from last winter when I post my complete winter outlook around mid-month. A few loose ends remain to be resolved e.g., predominant sign of the NAO, though I have some ideas on this but am not yet ready to commit on this just yet.
ENSO and QBO seem pretty well-behaved (N to possibly W-/E to W probably in January) and not likely to bring any major surprises. Hurricane season may have 1-2 storms left, but the overall nature of the season, probably won't change much from what has already occurred. After a dismal start, Northern Hemisphere snowcover is finally beginning to build (October 3-8, 2003):

Well hello tundra and welcome to Storm2K! Its great to have somone from AK join our ever growing site! I certainly look forward to hearing your reports of what the weather is like up where you are at!!! Feel free to add you own thoughts and opinions on what may happen with the weather!

As for me i have only seen one season when i didnt see snow 97/98
