Hmmmm. Great discussion wxguy25. :D

It would make my day if I could have a white Christmas. I have never had 1 in my life and I would die for one.

Sometimes you have to go to one, KC. :) For ie. my folks and I had a White Christmas in recent memory back in 2002 when we visited relatives in central Indiana! :D

Do you have any relatives who live in a mountainous area or up North?

Great discussion, Wxguy25, especially the strong positive relationship between the May-June N. Pacific signal and the winter PNA.

Thank you for the great comprehensive discussion again WXguy. When I read your analysis and discussions, it's certainly worth the time invested and IMHO better than many other meteorologists. I was thinking along those same lines as to the evolution of the pattern change after about Dec.15 makes sense to me. Although I was recently dissapointed about the delay in the winter pattern being pushed back a couple of weeks or so, reading these discussions and looking at this data increases my confidence that the overall thinking this winter is on target, even if delayed slightly until about X'mas. Eventually when the pattern change is complete for an EUS trough/+PNA/-NAO pattern, a cold and snowy period looks to be in the offing from late DEC through FEB.

Keeps us posted and thank you for your input !

As always, Ken

8-) Really great discussion, although most of it is over my head. We here in the southland, Louisiana, Miss. area would like to get in on some snow this winter. When the pattern does change will it be enough to bring in any arctic air to Southern / Southeastern La and Miss? We don't see much snow or ice , but would love a white Christmas. Do any of you guys have any thoughts on this? Looking forward to your posts.

Yes. It is fun when it is snow. But Ice is kind of dangerous. Even though I love it. Except when you have to drive.
