I don't think it matters where the tip came from...just that the child is located safely and unharmed. Reading about her story doesn't give me the best feeling---she's been missing since Dec. 12 when her father allegedly killed her grandparents.

sounds like the father is running...becuase he is the one suspected in the murders...and the amber alert i am guessing is based on the fact that he took his daughter with him....which...i guess could possibly mean the child is safe...just missing..the father just took his whole family with him to run from the murder

I hope and pray that is the case, and that she'll be found safe and sound SOON. If he killed his OWN PARENTS, then who's to say he's not in the frame of mind to kill his own daughter?

HOUSTON -- An Amber Alert was issued for a missing Bay City girl Tuesday night.

Police say they are looking for Justin Wayne Smith, 25, as a suspect in the murders of his parents on December 12. They also believe he has the child.

Smith may be driving a tan Chevy Suburban with personalized Texas license plates that read TNT 5.

He is also believed to be traveling with his wife, Elizabeth Smith, 20. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall, 125 pounds with blonde hair.

Justin Smith is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, with hazel eyes.

If you have seen either the man or the girl, you are asked to call DPS at (979) 543-6878.

I've found very little info on this situation via internet. From what I've read, the father apparently murdered his parents on Dec 12, took the baby with him and his wife (I assume the grandparents had custody for some reason), and they haven't been seen since.

I also wonder WHY it took 10 days to issue an Amber Alert. That's way too long (IMHO), but then I don't have much info on this so its hard to judge the authorities holding off on it. They must have had a good reason to wait so long.

I know i am a little late on this debate, but jeny, i think it is a great idea to put an alert about a missing child on any forum you are on, you never know who has seen the right thing to help find the child. If it was mine, I would want his face plastered wherever there was an empty spot.
