My answer is NO! I guess I am a true Floridian, born and raised here and I am not sick of it yet. I hate bundling up for the little of time that I have to. It' okay for about a week and then I'm over it. Shorts, tank top, and flip flops is the most I like to wear. If it were up to me I would love for the spring to stay all year somewhere in the upper 70's low 80's. That's heaven for me. Old man winter can stay asleep for all I care.

Nah, not ready for winter yet. Getting ready means buying coats and gloves and all those accouterments for the kids, since they outgrow them every year! We'll be wearing shorts until it gets down into the 40's.

Yeah, we get winter here. Usually there's two weeks in January when it doesn't get out of the single digits. I think the record here is like -10 That's cold enough for me. I used to live in Philadelphia. On any given day, it's 5 or more degrees colder here. That makes a big difference in the weather, when it's hovering around freezing. The biggest snowfall I ever experienced was in January '97 when we got hit with like 3 feet of snow over 3 days. Then a week later, it went up to the 60's and rained. There was a lot of flooding as a result of that.

It's supposed to go down to 39 Thursday night!!!! I feel like pitching a tent and building a campfire.....this has been a very hot and also dry summer. Sunny day after sunny day. At times, smog alerts.

My next door neighbor hates winter, I'll be out there lovin' it and she'll be shivering! LOL

Well, I just had to share the good news.....I am so ready for cooler temps. I can taste them.

We are finally hitting the 70 s here the end of this week upper 70 s but that is better than the mid to upper 90 s we have been having. I hope the temps continute to fall util the high is only in the 50 s and the lows 30 s. Fingers crossed and wishing for some snow!!

heck ya

I live right where the moisture from Nor'easters interact with cold air and where the most snow comes out of the nor'easters... usually... last year was an exception with the coast getting most of the action... anyway we usually get a good 2 to 4 weeks of highs 0 to 10 above and lows 0 to 10 below... and we hit 20 below a couple times last year...

we were deprived of a lot of snow action because most of the storms last year were RI and MA storms... still, we get about 80 to 140 inches each season...

I'm not necessarily wanting the tropics to slow down because I do want the record broken this season, but I can't wait for some winter action!

That was January 1996, fellow Pennsylvanian, ggg. I remember it well, had to shovel off our roof so it would not collapse, but that was no problem, because could just step off the roof onto the snow piles from the roof, the sidewalk and the drifts!! After the thaw and flood, the road crews had to pick huge iceblocks off of the road with payloaders where the road was near the local creeks because the flood dropped all the ice on the roads and nearby fields. Last time I saw that was in the 60's and it wasn't as bad as 1996!

I am seeing a lot of natural indicators that are saying this winter will be similar, rather brutal.

READY FOR WINTER?

New Blaze King Princess Insert (Highly recommended by friend in Alaska!)
6 Cords of wood, Mostly Split and Ready to go
1000 gallons of heating oil, enough for almost 3 years for us
New Blizzak Snow/Ice tires for 4WD
Extra food in the pantry
Lots of DVD's (including Winter Storm favorite, "The Shining")
Snowblower ready to go
Son in law with big Plow Truck
All I need is a set of snowshoes

READY FOR WINTER? I SHOULD THINK SO!

I have to say heck ya because I am tired of Tropical Storms and Hurricanes. I am tired of the heat, the mosquitos, the ants, and the tropical weather. I want cooler temps. Actually a few snow flakes would be nice. Yes, I know I am dreaming!
