Yeah a pretty cold run. Its a little dry compared to the previous run but at 5h the storm looks pretty potent. Think the Canadian is off its rocker

That Euro 216 hour panel has the 850mb 0C isotherm well into the Gulf and south of Brownsville.

5h Trough needs to go neutral or slightly negative to get a potent winter storm...Euro is more positive tilt on this run

Someone else would have to answer that question because the Euro doesn't have the 2m air temperature chart like the GFS does. I would say easily into the 20's though. And at the end of the run it looks like another Artic airmass is building in southern Canada.

I believe we have members who can answer questions about the 2m temps on the Euro but it's largely just a curiosity at this range.

Looks like Fun weather coming up for Texas! After a high of 89 the past 2 days the cold is welcome down here...at the end of the run the ECMWF has lows in the upper 20s for most of the RGV. :cold:

Beware of the long-range Euro. Seems it is over amplifying troughs in the long-range at least for the SE CONUS. The GFS does not show as much amplification.

Bad skin day in N. Texas. Single digit dew points with temps near 60F. That's single digit RH's.
