Hi all! looking at the latest 06z GFS...our dry weather continues all the way through at least the 2nd of March as that is when our next chance of precip appears to be. Though the GEM model is showing some precip for the South sounds areas for the morning of the 28th. ECMWF shoing 500MB heights of anywhere from 558 to 564DM for next week. So looks like another nice week coming up! -- Andy

Another cold morning...currently 27F with a few passing, low clouds. Another beautiful day on tap!! Actually, the next 8-9 days look like a carbon-copy of what we've been experiencing. Unbelievable for February!!
I'm heading down to Phoenix for vacation. Usually by this time of the year, I think we're all sick of the Seattle rain...but definitely not this year. Currently Phoenix is under a Flash Flood Watch. Like I said, I'll try to keep everyone updated while I'm down there. Maybe I'll actually see some "weather"!! But I was looking forward to sun and temperatures in the mid 70s like last year. Last year it actually hit 80F one day. Definitely not this year.
Everyone enjoy the long weekend and get outside!! You never know when this will all turn!! Man, for all we know, March, April and May could all be downers with tons of lowland rain and tons of mountain snow. So take advantage of the weather now!!! You know this won't last forever in Seattle.

Another very cold morning in Covington, with a low of 24 degrees. This will undoubtedly be the longest string of subfreezing low temperatures in many years.
The Seattle area should expect high temps the next two days to be several degrees cooler than the last few days, as a fresh shot of Canadian air moves in. It will be very crisp for sure!

W13... Yeah I go to the skagit speedway with my dad a lot... We used to go more a few years ago when we had a friend that raced there (phil sevo)... He drove a yellow #6 car that was sponsored by the Soft Rock Cafe on the hood and had my family's name on the side...
It is still fun to go watch, the races are really intese especially during the big time events...
As for other sports, i am mainly a sonics, seahawks and mariners fan and I love watching nascar... Dale Earnheartd use to be my favorite racer before he died... So now I'm going for Junior...
Thanks for the Picture tips, I forgot who they were from but whoever it was thanks for the instructions... I will get those things developed and show the wintry scenes...
Low of just 30 last night after a high of 41... Currently 12:10 and 35 degrees. Not warming up much today.

Alright everyone...off to Phoenix. Wish me luck...throw me some sun and warm temperatures!
Another awesome day outside!! Cooler than yesterday, but just as much sunshine. Alot more frost too.
Like I said, I'll try to get online but it all depends on the hotel. If I don't, everyone enjoy the week and no bickering...cough, cough Brennan and TT-SEA...lol.

Ahhh...Nice and crisp again. At 1:00pm we only have 46 degrees. Yet another cold one on tap for tonight. We have now had 5 consecutive lows of 25 or below, the most since Jan - Feb 1996 which had 6. The monthly average low is now 29.8 and dropping.
I have seen yet another sign of how messed up mother nature is this year...nightcrawlers are coming out of the ground at my place, only to be frozen to death as they encounter the frigid nighttime air. I have never seen that happen before.

Andrew...That is for sure. This is turning into one impressive string of cold night for this time of year! The warmer days just aren't enough to offset that. The very intriguing thing is how this type of pattern has not happened for so mnay years. There is no doubt we are in some kind of a transition. One year that had a lot in common with this was 1928. The winter of 1928 - 29 was fabulous! That was one of the winters the city of Seattle sanctioned ice skating on Green Lake.
I am anxious to get my final list of matches (comparable years) to this pattern figured out. It is interesting to note, that both 1928 and 1993 had a complete collapse in March and beyond. I had earlier stated that 1942 was also a good match to this year, but upon further scrutiny, it is not that close...
