Small band of precipitation currently moving north. Just checked my outside thermometer and it says 35 F. Interesting note...light NE breeze with a dewpoint of 28 F. Will it be rain or snow? Or maybe a mix? Right now I'm leaning toward rain, but you never know. Although there's a low dewpoint, the temperature is a little too high for snow at sea level.

38 F at 4:10 PM with an East Wind at 3-5 mph. It took us until 8 PM last night to reach 38 F, so we are already four hours ahead of last night (was 30 F by midnight last night). I think it is looking pretty good for tonight/tommorow morning.

The ABC announcers for the Seahawks/Rams game are mocking our local forecasters!!

They said... man they blew that forecast huh?

Then they said its raining cats and dogs in San Diego for the next game but its just beautiful here in Seattle.

Pretty funny stuff.

No organized moisture tonight though.

It may get as cold or colder... but precip should be really spotty.

I have a feeling that by the 9:30 PM update by NWS, they may be issuing snow Snow Advisories, throughout the Central and North Sound region. Temps are dropping fairly quickly just about everywhere, and it looks as if there will be amply precip around later tonight and early tommorow morning. 8-)

I actually think there will be some organized moisture, particularly around midnight. We shall see though.

Interesting note...

Just watched Northwest Cable News and they updated their extended forecasts. On Thursday, Spokane's high temperature is 12 degrees with an overnight low of 0 degrees. In Seattle, they have a high temperature of 40 degrees with an overnight low of 26 degrees. It's amazing how the Cascade Range acts as a dividing line between brutal cold and cool weather. If there was a backdoor coldfront, arctic air could spill through the gaps of the mountain passes. But right now, that looks slim.

From the observations... temperatures are mostly in the low to mid 40's and the air has become very dry again.

You will see radar activity but not much reach the ground.

For example... it looks like it should be raining on the Seahawks game from the radar. But its totally dry.

Thats virga.

We are in the same situation as last night with less moisture.

My SCIENTIFIC guess is that there will be no accumulating snow anywhere in King County or south tonight.

So... if I don't say exactly what you want you can continue ignoring me.

Or should I say... temps are falling like a rock... tons of moisture... should get a good 6-8 inches downtown Seattle tonight!!

That would be a lie.

Farther west... precip can reach the ground.

But rain in Central Kitsap... interesting.

37 F with the Dew Point rising. Light ENE Wind at 2 mph. If the temps continue to fall this way, we should be below freezing by 8 pm or so.

Currently 33 F with a light E wind. I noticed precipitation is evaporating before it hits the ground...blame that on low dewpoints.

You will creep down to 33 or 34 degrees and stay there.

Regardless... there is no organized moisture tonight... I say it again.

You guys could learn something if you would open your mind to other things than just the precise weather you want.

Many factors have to come together perfectly for good snow in metro Seattle. They are not coming together tonight. Learn the science... its cool.

Currently 36 F with a Dew Point of 26 F. Humidity is on the rise, so the Dew point will be going up a few degrees in the next few hours so that will allow more of the precip to make it to where I live.

Here is my predictions for tonight:

North Interior: Snow Showers, accumulations 1-3" tonight

Everett and vicinity: 1-3" tonight

Seattle Metro Area: A trace with most showers probably staying as a rain/snow mix, except on the higher hills around Seattle, which could potentially turn to snow (i.e. Queen Anne etc.)

Central Sound Foothills: 1-3" tonight, probably being all snow as temps in most locations already nearing the freezing point

Cascade Foothills: Trace to locally 1" ... the SE and E winds are just to strong, that the precip is being pushed away from this area, probably only a few flurries early tommorow morning

South Sound (Tacoma Southward):Trace to locally 1" ... Just a tad bit warm tonight, so any snow that will fall will most likely be in the early morning hours when the temps are at their coldest point (just before sunrise)

Feel free to give constructive critiscm, but just don't put my forecast down. It is what I am predicting will occur, and you must remember that what does happen, it may be spotty (i.e. one area get s two inches of snow, the next town area only gets a dusting or nothing at all).

Temps still holding in the low to mid 40's at 5 p.m. around metro Seattle.

Warmer than last night. Tonight will truly be a non-event for all areas.

South of Everett because its too warm and everywhere because there is nothing on the radar... even very little in Oregon.

Nothing to work with tonight. Moisture continues to sink south tomorrow so totally dry Sunday and Monday.

Then some rain/snow during the day Tuesday... but a shadow from the Oympics for Everett, Lynnwood, Seattle, Kent, and Tacoma.

Pretty good shot at an inch or two of snow from Burlington north and east of 405 in the Seattle area on Tuesday afernoon/evening.

Then strikingly dry and warming for the rest of the week.

Thats an unbiased, objective opinion. Ignoring the fact that I would love a foot of snow... it ain't gonna happen.

32 F with a moderate E wind. Looks like any moisture that does make it from the south, will evaporate before it hits the ground. Don't want to sound negative like TT-SEA, but I'm being realistic. As for next week, a slight shift in the arctic air will either make or break Western Washington. As of now, a majority of the airmass will move east into Eastern Washington, but there's a small possibility of Frazer leakage or a backdoor coldfront. In any event, the possibility of a "fringe" snow event does exist Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, but with no organized low pressure system off the south Washington coast and a westerly flow aloft, I don't see much precipitation for the central Puget Sound.
