Houston IAH has fallen to 19F. Since 2000 only twice has it done so for the site. Jan 2018 and Feb 2021. Wxman57 can sleep well knowing IAH'S 1930's all time record low of 5F is safe.

I don’t remember Jan 2018. What happened then?

That was due to a arctic outbreak and sleet storm that happened here.

Some light snow bands near Lubbock. Some Hi-Res models have been hinting at flurries today/tomorrow.

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

College Station got something like 4-6" of snow I think and sleet was reported near the coast.

In mid-January 2018, I know we had an ice storm here in San Antonio. Most, if not all, of the city shut down.

A little over a month prior to that ice storm, San Antonio got about 2 inches of snow. The wet slushy kind -_-

I see some snow bands popping up from Deming, New Mexico to Lubbock. Is this supposed to move southeast?

Too dry in lower levels sadly. If it was light out tonight some might have been able to see virga as some light snow sublimates on the way down but nothing expected otherwise.

Still bright, sunny and a humid 64° here in Orlando at 5:00pm. Just a gentle breeze- absolutely beautiful. The forecast was for the temps to be “plummeting” all day, lol. I’m going to be surprised if the lows forecast for tomorrow morning are going to verify here. I think they will have undershot it by 5-8° instead of 30° I’m going with 35°-38° for metro Orlando. Most cold outbreaks are over predicted for this area. We are surrounded by water many many air moderating lakes and the gulf and the nearby Atlantic play huge roles in keeping the floor from dropping out of our temperatures.

Texas Winter 2022-2023

I had a low of 15. Cold enough for me. My garage is full of plants. They are resting happily for now, waiting for warmer weather.

I’ve had my fill and decided enough is enough. I’m flying in reinforcements up north to help with WxMan’s wall! Must be taller!!

Got down to 14.4 at the house. That's some mighty cold air for down here in SE Texas.

That’s the coldest reading I’ve heard for southeast TX.

DW Hooks is the official reporting site for Tomball. They recorded 15 as the low. I'm typically just a tad cooler where I am on a clear night with radiational cooling.

Currently a balmy 33F as of 9AM in Orlando. :) This cold meant business, got down to -7 here in the Cincinnati area with a high yesterday of -2F. We haven't had it this cold in a long while.

OK, can we now declare an end to winter? You've all had your cold weather fun. I stayed up for 40 hrs to make sure my pipes didn't freeze. Back to the upper 70s to 80 by next Thursday. Commence January thaw.

Note these are not official numbers. :uarrow: And apparently the share linking no longer works either.

We had sun all day long yesterday with not a cloud in the sky just 2 and a half hours north of you.
