32 at the airport. Yikes I didn't expect to get to freezing considering the area shot up to the low 40s this afternoon. I thought cloud cover would prevent much of a cool down with warmer rain drops falling. We shall see in the morning. Night night peeps.

Looks like freeze line has retreated to I-30. I would be cautious on bridges in the northern half of DFW.

Sidewalk and driveway on north side of the house covered with ice (McKinney). I noticed the flower beds were frozen yesterday afternoon.

Edit: icicles on street signs and gutters

The ice is about as thick as my pointer finger, which means it's between 1/3 and 1/2 inch, even though it could be closer to 1/2 inch.

The trees and grass had a glaze heading out of Ponder this AM. Roads were fine. Once I got close to 35W temp was 33 and no ice. Guess we were on the cusp.

The only positive there is to take from these single digit arctic outbreaks is that it reduces the population of fire ants and wasps/yellow jackets.
