Weather geek and a storm spotter in West Austin. Not a degreed meteorologist. Big snow fan. Love rain and cold! Despise heat!
Re: Texas Winter 2021-2022
Up and down I-35 corridor is a good hit on the Euro. First run of its kind, give it to the ICON for leading the way. We knew the Euro was going to fold it was just a matter of time.

As long as we end up getting snow here and not ice I'm all for it but we really don't need any ice at all. Ice storms are never a good thing.

Prepare now. We got all models now on board.
Just wow. Winter is making a long awaited appearance with a vengeance.

I fully anticipate frz rain and sleet well into south central and south east Texas.
Models don’t grasp it yet, but I think this is a statewide event.

Any post should not be taken as a forecast. I am just an amateur living the dream.

Goodness... Euro is so close to being epic winter storm for Texas. Could possibly detach from northern stream, which slow down forward motion and open the door to an even more dynamic system.

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

Just very impressive what the ICON did. It's not over until it happens but still, despite whatever the other models tried to jump around on it didn't budge. Crown it. Not only with 5h but QPF despite notorious for being conservative.

I had a suspicion it was onto something when it didn't back down but wow. It's been nothing short of incredible watching first the GFS and now the Euro fall to it

I waited to see what folks said about the Euro instead of looking myself at first. It's fun to see the reactions here either way, but with this, yep, we are getting groceries tomorrow. My wife's family is in from Abilene, so not happening today. I do like the changeover line being closer to western DFW as well. I would like to see more QPF being held back behind the ice line ready to come in like one of the models did earlier today to ensure a bigger snow hit on the back end. But, overall, loving the trends.

I've warned my family about this & they are going to do the same thing as well, getting the Groceries Next Monday &/or Tuesday.
Also warned the School about it too, they are keeping an eye on thing & will need me to tell them the forecasts if necessary.

Time to book a flight out of here. I had my once in a lifetime experience last year with that nonsense.

I hope not. Don’t want anything to do with the ice.
