Could be a little snow on the LA/MS/AL/FL Panhandle coast, but that's just showing major snowfall(4 inches or more).

The NAM still has warm air ahead of the low at 850-700 at 24 hours along the coast. Maybe a sleet event? Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised to see some flakes behind it, if there's any wrap-around.

I'm not sure how much this will cost the Gulf coast in terms of lost revenue and closed schools/businesses. Probably not much.

I think the NAM is too far south and the GFS too far north. I think somewhere in the middle is more likely.

Depends on where you are. Around here in Eastern NC, if they suspect 1 to 3 inches, chances are they'll issue a Watch, and probably a Winter Storm Warning. We just are not used to snow like other places are, and are ill equipped to handle such an amount. Heck, around here, you just mention the "S" word and everyone RUNS to the grocery store in a panic

Not sure about FFC, but for BMX 2 inches or more is warning criteria, so they probably did it because of the range(up to 3 inches).

BMX did something similar earlier, with mostly an inch or two in the watch area(still waiting for their new update).

I'm getting a general feel from Atlanta that they are playing catch up. The local TV stations are much more excited(and have been since yesterday) than the NWS.

They also seem a bit wary here too. Went from Winter Storm Watch to a snow advisory until they figure out where the banding will set up. Seems strange they would not hold on to WSW until a warning was issued. They are saying colder and slower system than Thursday's storm. Onset of precip backed up a good 6 hours, it bought them some time. Charlotte and Atlanta colaberate a lot on issues like this. Many watches will turn into warnings soon. As one poster showed, it is already snowing in Louisiana! This will be fun.
