The GFS has now warmed a good 15 - 20 degrees off the coldest runs. It is now about 5 degrees warmer than the Euro...

Rain and drizzle will be ongoing starting Saturday night and continuing through Sunday morning. As the temperatures drop below freezing early Sunday morning, there will be a potential for freezing drizzle, starting in the northwest, and continuing into the rest of North and Central Texas throughout the day. A few snow flurries may also mix across the region.

Has Houston area below or right at freezing from NYD through the following Saturday when it warms up to a balmy upper 30s. :D

Yes sir! We are under a winter weather advisory until noon. Looks like it is slowing down but it is still lightly coming down.

I guess I'm a little too far north. I'm up around the base and only have had on and off freezing drizzle.

12z CMC has south Louisiana below freezing for 5 DAYS with several nights in the low to mid teens. That would be extremely damaging but CMC is always overdone with low temps around here.

I am near Burk and it was coming down pretty hard. It did not really accumulate but I heard Electra got a dusting out of it. It seems to have finally stopped now.

I an expecting lows next week in the 12 to 22 range depending on cloud cover. Highs in the 18 to 30 range depending on clouds and precip intensity.

Our local mets have been discussing potential wintry mix this weekend but I have not seen any of the models indicate anything this far north. Am I overlooking something?

Is that for those of us in the Tyler/Lindale area? I would hope no ice.

the NAM has a brief window for some frozen precip Sunday morning as the arctic air arrives coming down from Oklahoma before it gets shunted south

Dallas seems to be thinking more freezing drizzle than anything but we'll see how it goes.

Is the NAM normally wrong with it’s forecast for snow, sleet or freezing rain?

Thanks Brent! I guess I overlooked the NAM. I assume that is what they are basing the discussion on. I know the GFS and Euro have been pretty dry for the Red River areas.
