Temp really busted this morning. Low of 20 with an insanely heavy frost. The same as yesterday. I don’t think it got above 35 with the windchill in the low 20s all day.

Got down to 32°F last night as expected.

Really nice today and tomorrow with dry air and temps in the 50s today and 60s tomorrow under brilliant blue, sunny skies.

Brent wrote:Flew to Denver today and still some snow in the shade from last night's snowstorm. At least it can still snow somewhere although here in the sun it's gone already. East of Denver on the plane looked even better before it started to really melt

We got here Friday afternoon just as things really started ramping up and it continued to intensify into blizzard conditions that evening. If i knew how to upload videos id share it with everyone

Looking out my window, I see my azaleas have started blooming. That signals the end of winter. Time for the spring thread.

30.9°F and dropping IMFY. So, even colder than last night. Winter makes one last stab.

, Seeing some signs in the ensemble guidance especially the GEFS of some of the cold air in alaska getting dislodged and sent down into the central US, the GFS shows this occurring in the medium range, winter is not going down without a fight, also helps that march is likely going to be on the cooler side
No im not looking for arctic air, but I do think we could get some of that chillier air to come down here
EPS starting to imply the same thing

Yes the temps will end up quite warm overall, but it wasn't all that sucky of a winter for DFW in the context of Climo.

We average 2" of snow each year, which is roughly about how much we got (albeit in the most unusual way possible). We also saw above average rainfall totals which helped to wipe out much of the remaining drought conditions.

But now, let's being on Spring and severe weather season! And god willing, clear skies for the upcoming Solar Eclipse! :flag:

South of Houston seemed like a normal winter here, only the one big cold snap really but we didn’t have a bunch of 80 degree winter days either like the last few winters so not too bad.

We had about 22 days with lows at freezing or below in CLL IMFY. No DPs in the 70s. So, more like a normal Fall and Winter back in the 90s.

28.9°F low last night. It's been good knowing you, Winter 2023-2024.

Will enjoy today. Low humidity and no insects out.

12Z GFS has most of the metroplex getting about .25" of precip in the next two weeks. That's not good.

12z GFS is seeing some cool/cold rainy weather near the beginning of March in CLL. But it is the GFS...

The abrupt flip to a drier pattern is more disappointing than the abrupt end to winter. However, I guess it was chilly this weekend lol

Hopefully, this is temporary, and we will see a wet Spring in Texas.

Well I'm near Rocky Mountain National Park and we hit a wind tunnel on a frozen lake and it felt like the January cold did for a second  :froze:

At least I'm getting some winter here if it is pretty much over otherwise

Unfortunately the GFS and Euro Weeklies have been consistently indicating we will have a drier than normal March for a while now... :(

Looks like the GFS wants to bring in some cooler/chilly air, but also re introduce rain chances with a cut off low developing on the model, also appearing like the SE ridge might be a player as well, just something to watch for now

That SE Ridge could be trouble for Storm Season

But the Euro Weeklies have been hot garbage lately imo.
