He’s referring to the upper level pattern. For us to get ‘83 and ‘21 temp output, there are a few factors at play, mainly source region cold and snowpack to our north.

Brine trucks out in full force today. Saw some on Hwy 183 and 161 N earlier. Wasted tax money for wet roads.

18z models are all over the place, but it does look like SW OK, and nearby Texas counties are locked in for a serious event.

Denton Heat Island?

Haha! Hopefully the DFW area won't get shafted like this graphic shows

18z GFS just unloads the arctic down the plains into TX. Not even going to show the precip output. Too good to be true.

Nothing stopping that from TX borders if we load up on that type of cold into the pattern.

The dark blues and purples are showing up on the CPC maps into the US with a cold source region. You know that means business. Next week we take an Arctic plunge.

If Houston gets more winter precipitation than DFW area I’ll be a little upset lol. We need at least one good snow storm up here.

18Z GFS is showing some crazy cold temperatures for early part of Feb. If it were to verify, it would have SE Texas below freezing for several days and precip during part of that time.

Definitely a run that would make the I-95 blush all things considered from SA to Houston.

Edit...although a pattern unloading like that would undoubtedly mean their back in business as well.

The 18z Euro will be interesting. The 12z EPS doubled the number of members showing 3"+ at DFW, with a couple of big time members tossed back in. I guess the traditional logic was to discount ensembles as you got closer to an event, but the resolution of the Euro EPS does keep it a viable tool within 48hrs.

I95 has been shutout largely this year. Pretty sure he meant I95.

It’s a running joke on here that we enjoy it when those spoiled Yankees complain about lack of snow.
